Boilo board price: what you are paying for
Boilo is Action TESA's answer to BWP plywood in wet areas. It is a high density fibreboard (above 1,000 kg/m³) made to resist boiling water and certified fire retardant. That combination is why an 8mm Boilo sheet can cost about ₹113 per sq ft, more than many 18mm HDHMR boards: you pay for density, the BWP bond and the fire treatment, not for thickness.
Use Boilo where water and fire risk meet: kitchen bases near the sink and hob, bathroom vanities, commercial pantries. For dry wardrobes and shutters it is more board than you need; HDHMR or MDF will do. Compare it with 18mm BWP plywood prices before you decide.

How to check you are buying genuine Action TESA
- Look for the brand print on the board face or edge and the product name (HDHMR, Boilo, MDF) on the invoice.
- Know which standards apply. MDF is covered by IS 12406, and Boilo's fire retardancy by IS 5509. There is no separate Indian Standard for HDHMR, so ask for the brand's density and thickness-swelling data.
- Get a GST invoice naming the board type and thickness; it is your only proof if a batch swells or delaminates.
What moved plywood prices in 2026
Resin chemicals drove most of the change this year. Phenol and formaldehyde, the raw materials for BWR and BWP glue, rose sharply in March and April 2026, and the large brands passed it on: CenturyPly raised plywood prices by about 7% in April and Greenply by about 4-5%.
