Here is how to verify a sheet sold as "National" and what to compare it with.

Merino, best known for laminates, also makes plywood: Tuff BWP, bonded with Merino's own phenolic resin and tested to IS 710 values, Tuff MR for dry interiors, and the Superply and Mandasa series, built on Indian eucalyptus and poplar. Merino publishes no plywood prices, so compare dealer quotes by grade and thickness.

Archidply's plywood range runs from Platinum Prime, a calibrated IS 710 marine grade with a lifetime warranty, and Gold Marine (IS 710, 30 years) to fire-retardant IS 5509 ply and Classic MR and BWR sheets. Rushil Decor sells boards under the VIR brand rather than plywood: VIR PRO interior MDF, VIR PROPLUS exterior-grade MDF and VIR MAXPRO, a high-density fibre water-resistant (HDFWR) board pitched for kitchens and bathrooms. VIR does not publish board prices, so compare dealer quotes by grade and thickness.

Greenpanel, India's largest MDF maker, sells both boards: online listings put 18mm interior MDF near ₹66 per sq ft and exterior MDF near ₹107, while its plywood runs from G-Pro MR (IS 303) to Gold (IS 710, 30-year guarantee) and Club (IS 10701, lifetime guarantee). See which board suits which job.
