Rushil Decor VIR prices at a glance (checked 15 October 2026)
Short answer: Rushil Decor does not make plywood. It makes MDF and high-density boards under the VIR brand: VIR PRO (interior MDF), VIR PROPLUS (exterior-grade MDF) and VIR MAXPRO, an HDFWR (high-density fibre water-resistant) board that Rushil recommends for kitchens and bathrooms. VIR does not publish a board price list, and we could not find reliable retail listings, so dealer quotes are the price you will be working with.
One hard number exists: Rushil's April-June 2026 results imply an ex-factory MDF realisation of about ₹46 per sq ft at an 18mm equivalent. That is before GST, freight and dealer margin, so retail quotes will sit well above it.

What a fair VIR quote looks like
Without a VIR price list, benchmark against the market for the same type of board. In 2026, 18mm interior MDF from leading makers sold for about ₹55-75 per sq ft, exterior MDF for about ₹90-107, and 18mm HDHMR-type boards for about ₹70-113. A VIR PRO quote should sit in the interior MDF band and a MAXPRO quote in the HDHMR or HDWR band. If a quote is far outside these ranges, ask for the exact grade and thickness in writing.
Rushil raised MDF prices by about 15% and laminate prices by about 10% from 1 April 2026, in line with the rest of the industry. Most MDF increases across the market were rolled back by August, so check whether your dealer's rate still includes the April hike.

MAXPRO makes sense for modular shutters and carcasses where a flat finish matters and water contact is occasional. For sink bases and long load-bearing spans, BWP plywood is still the safer pick. More in MDF vs HDHMR and plywood vs MDF for furniture.
How to check you are buying genuine VIR boards
- Check the print and grade. VIR boards carry the brand name; the invoice should say PRO, PROPLUS or MAXPRO and the thickness.
- Ask for the standard. MDF is covered by IS 12406. HDFWR has no separate Indian Standard, so ask for the brand's density and swelling test data.
- Insist on a GST invoice. It is your only record if a batch swells or delaminates.
What moved plywood prices in 2026
Resin chemicals drove most of the change this year. Phenol and formaldehyde, the raw materials for BWR and BWP glue, rose sharply in March and April 2026, and the large brands passed it on: CenturyPly raised plywood prices by about 7% in April and Greenply by about 4-5%. MDF makers announced increases of around 15% from April, but most of those were rolled back by August. GST on plywood stays at 18%, unchanged by the September 2025 rate changes.
