Is Alstone a plywood brand?
No. Alstone is a cladding and surfacing brand, so the questions it answers are about facades, ceilings, wall panels and surfaces, not about plywood cores.
The home page describes the brand as a manufacturer of ACP and related panels, and lists 14 product lines. The About page names a plant in Dehradun and calls the brand "two decades old", but gives no founding year, capacity or registered company name, so PlyPrice does not state them. A few pages give different channel partner counts (the About page says over 500, the home page says 600+), so treat those as marketing figures and use the dealer you are dealing with as your reference point.
This page is for interior designers, facade and cladding contractors and homeowners who are comparing wall panels with boards. If you are choosing the carcass or backing board behind a panel, the best plywood brands guide and the list of 50 plywood brands by region and type cover that side.
Alstone ranges: what each one is for
Each named range maps to a different material, so choose by material and use before you choose by shade.
| Range | What the brand page says it is | Thickness and size shown | Fire and warranty shown |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classic | ACP sheet in two grades: standard and fire-rated A2; Lumiflon coating; shade codes VL-01 onwards | Not stated | Fire-rated grade claims resistance "for up to 2 hours" depending on core; 15 years* |
| Evolution | ACP for exterior and interior; wood, stone, granite and metallic textures; codes such as ALV-100 | 3mm standard; 8 ft x 4 ft standard | Called non-combustible, no class or standard; no warranty stated |
| Anometa | Anodised ACP with a metal look; nine shades, AN 1501 to AN 1509 | 3mm and 4mm; 8 ft x 4 ft | No fire claim; no warranty stated |
| HPL | Aluminium-based HPL with wood, metallic and stone-look finishes; codes HPL-201 to HPL-274 | 6mm; size not stated | Described as more fire-resistant than standard HPL, no rating; 15 years* |
| Stonearc | Lightweight metal composite panel in stone-inspired matte textures; 15 shades, ST-01 to ST-15 | Thickness not stated; 2440 x 1220mm | Fire-retardant, attributed to "Thomas Bell-Wright"; no standard or certificate number; warranty not stated |
The home page also lists Alcomb (aluminium honeycomb), Zinc, Louvers and 3D Panels. PlyPrice read the product pages for the five ranges above, not those four, so ask the dealer for the data sheet of any of them.
Classic ACP: standard and fire-rated grades
The Classic page splits ACP into non-flammable and fire-rated A2 types by core: the standard core is LDPE or HDPE, while the fire-rated core is mineral, commonly magnesium hydroxide. The page lists applications that include canopies, exterior cladding, interiors, fences, railings, false ceilings, signage and cabinets, and says skin and core thickness vary by requirement.
Anometa and Evolution: the 3mm and 4mm panels
These are the two ranges where the brand states a thickness and the 8 x 4 ft sheet. For interior walls, ceilings and signage, 3mm is the common size in the listings below; for taller or windier facades the substructure and thickness should come from the project drawing, not the shade card.
Alstone ACP and HPL price in November 2026
Alstone does not publish prices on its product pages, which direct visitors to contact the company for shades, samples and technical specifications, so the only price evidence is dealer listings.
PlyPrice read IndiaMART listings that named Alstone on 3 November 2026. None of the pages stated whether GST or transport was included, and most did not state a sheet size, so treat them as indicative trade rates per sq ft.
| Listing (IndiaMART, seen 3 November 2026) | Thickness | Rate per sq ft | Estimate per 8x4 sheet (32 sq ft) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alstone ACP sheet, rectangular, Ghaziabad | 3mm | ₹80 | ₹2,560 |
| 3mm Alstone ACP sheet, Ghaziabad | 3mm | ₹87 | ₹2,784 |
| Alstone white colour sheets, Saharanpur | 3mm | ₹98 | ₹3,136 |
| Alstone Classic VL-10 Ivory White, New Delhi, seller shown as Alstone Manufacturing Private Limited | 3mm | ₹110 | ₹3,520 |
| Alstone Classic plain black, Kanpur | 7mm | ₹90 | ₹2,880 |
| Alstone Alcomb panel, New Delhi | 10mm, width 1220mm | ₹120 | Length not stated, so not converted |
The per-sheet column is a PlyPrice estimate (method: rate per sq ft multiplied by 32, assuming an 8x4 ft sheet, which the brand gives as standard for Evolution and Anometa). Two things limit these figures: the listings do not say which aluminium skin thickness or coating they carry, and PlyPrice cannot confirm that the seller name on the ₹110 listing is linked to the brand on alstoneindia.com.
Why the listing spread is so wide
Other Alstone-named listings on the same page ranged from ₹30 to ₹250 per sq ft with no thickness, skin or grade stated, including one titled "Evoque" and one pairing the name with a different brand. A quote that does not name the range, shade code, thickness, aluminium skin and fire grade is not comparable with another quote. A 4mm fire-rated sheet and a 3mm standard sheet are different products at different prices.
No verified PlyPrice band for ACP or HPL exists in the 2026 reference set, and no Alstone HPL listing with a visible rate turned up, so the price of Alstone HPL is not published and not estimated here.
How HPL relates to laminates
HPL stands for high-pressure laminate, and the ordinary kind is the decorative laminate (sunmica) used on cabinets, countertops and wall panels.
The types of laminates guide explains HPL, LPL, acrylic, PU and compact laminates in full; for brand-by-brand comparisons see the best laminate brands guide, and for where laminates are used see the laminate uses guide.
Alstone's HPL page describes a different build. It says "Alstone HPL is made of aluminum", with aluminium foil inside the layers bonded with phenolic resin, offered at 6mm. That is not the same as a paper-based decorative laminate that you glue on a board, so do not assume the same price basis or fixing method. The page does not name a standard (such as an IS or EN laminate specification) and gives no sheet size, so ask for both before comparing it with a laminate brand.
| Point | Alstone HPL (as published) | Typical decorative laminate |
|---|---|---|
| Build | Aluminium-based, with phenolic resin | Paper layers with resin, pressed under heat |
| Thickness stated | 6mm | Brand-specific; see each laminate brand page |
| Fixing | Adhesive bonding or mechanical fastening, per the brand FAQ | Glued to a substrate such as plywood or MDF |
| Price shown | Not published | See the 8x4 laminate sheet price guide |
Alstone panels vs generic alternatives
Against unbranded ACP, a named range gives you a shade code, a stated warranty and a company to ask for test reports, but the listings above show that branded and generic quotes often overlap in price.
| Point | Alstone (as published) | Generic or unnamed ACP |
|---|---|---|
| Shade identification | Coded shades per range (VL, ALV, AN, HPL, ST series) | Colour name only, often |
| Warranty | 15 years* on ACP and HPL pages, conditions unclear | Usually the dealer's word |
| Fire grade | Non-flammable and A2 grades named on Classic; no class on the product pages | Ask for the core type and test report |
| Price | Not published; 3mm listings ₹80-110 per sq ft | Check dated listings and written quotes |
| Dealer locator | Page showed "Coming Soon" on 3 November 2026 | Local availability |
Choosing Alstone over another ACP brand is a specification decision, not a ranking. Compare thickness, aluminium skin, coating, core, fire grade and warranty terms in writing for every brand you shortlist.
Where these panels are used and what to verify
Alstone's pages place the panels on facades, canopies, ceilings, signage and interiors, and the sensible checks differ by place.
- Facades and cladding: the Classic, Evolution, Anometa and Stonearc pages list exterior cladding, high-rises and commercial towers. Here the fire grade, thickness and fixing system matter most, and local fire norms may require a documented class.
- Interiors and ceilings: the pages list false ceilings, interior design and column covers. A non-fire-rated 3mm panel may be acceptable in a villa; a hotel corridor or office may need the fire-rated core.
- Kitchens and cabinets: the HPL and Classic pages list cabinetry and countertops. For homes, compare with a conventional laminate on plywood or MDF by price and by joint design, using the plywood vs laminate board guide.
- Coastal and monsoon sites: the Anometa and Classic pages claim corrosion, UV and moisture resistance. Ask which coating and which warranty clause applies to coastal air, because the warranty terms are not shown.
Fire rating claims: what the site shows
The product pages give claims, not classes. The Classic page says fire-rated panels can withstand fire "for up to 2 hours" depending on the core, the Evolution page says non-combustible, and the Stonearc page says fire-retardant. None of these pages names a test standard, class or certificate number.
The certifications page lists two files whose names mention ASTM E 119 with 2 hour and 3 hour fire ratings, and the file names also mention 4mm panel variants. The page does not say which product each file covers, who issued it or when, so PlyPrice treats these as leads, not verified results. The word "A2" is used on the Classic page without naming a classification system; the European reaction-to-fire system uses A2 and B classes, so ask the seller to name the system, class and tested thickness on the report.
Certificates and approvals
The page lists 14 certificate names (including ARAI, IIT, Thomas Bell-Wright and several numbered test reports) and 5 approvals (ANNEX, CPWD, Engineers India Ltd, IOCL and Maharashtra Metro). It shows no ISO certificate, no issuer and no dates. For a tender or fire-sensitive job, ask for the certificate for the exact range, thickness and batch you are buying, not the logo page.
Alstone warranty: 15 years with an asterisk
Both the ACP FAQ and the HPL page state a 15-year warranty and mark it with an asterisk, but the pages read do not show the conditions behind it.
The Evolution, Anometa and Stonearc pages state no warranty, and the Evolution page instead gives a durability estimate of 20-30+ years with proper installation and maintenance; the FAQ gives the same 20 to 30 years or more as a general lifespan. Before you pay, get the warranty terms in writing, covering coating, colour fade, delamination, who inspects and what is replaced. Keep the invoice and shade code; the warranty explainer covers how claims usually work on boards, which helps you ask the right questions on panels too.
How to buy and verify Alstone panels
Because the dealer locator was not working on 3 November 2026, start from the brand's contact page and confirm every detail in writing.
- Dealer: use the enquiry route on alstoneindia.com and ask the company to confirm the dealer or channel partner you are dealing with.
- Range and shade code: the quote should name the range (Classic, Evolution, Anometa and so on) and the shade code, such as VL, ALV or AN series.
- Thickness and skin: overall thickness in mm, and aluminium skin thickness if the dealer can state it. The brand says skin and core thickness vary by requirement.
- Fire grade: standard core or fire-rated core, with the test report for the same range and thickness.
- Warranty: the 15 year terms in writing, with the conditions the asterisk refers to.
- Sample and batch: approve a physical sample, and check that delivered sheets match it in shade, thickness and protective film.
- Delivered price: per sq ft including GST, transport, cutting and any fabrication, then convert to per sheet (rate multiplied by 32 for 8x4).
Wood-based substrates behind panels, such as plywood or blockboard, do carry the ISI mark and a CM/L licence number that you can verify on BIS Care or Manak Online; the ISI mark check guide shows how. Alstone's pages show no ISI mark or CM/L number for ACP or HPL, and PlyPrice does not claim any exists or does not exist; ask the dealer which standard, if any, applies to the product you are buying.
